Importance of Childhood Memories

Childhood memories are very important in our lives. It makes us remember the best times of our lives. They shape our thinking and future. When one has good childhood memories, they grow up to be happy individuals. However, if one has traumatic childhood memories, it affects their adult life gravely.

Thus, we see how childhood memories shape our future. They do not necessarily define us but they surely play a great role. It is not important that someone with traumatic childhood memories may turn out to be not well. People get past their traumatic experiences and grow as human beings. But, these memories play a great role in this process as well.

Most importantly, childhood memories keep the inner child alive. No matter how old we get, there is always a child within each one of us. He/She comes out at different times.

For instance, some may act like a child on seeing swings; the other may get excited like a child when they see ice cream. All this happens so because we have our childhood memories reminding us of the times associated with the things we get excited about. Therefore, childhood memories play a great role in our lives.

Childhood memories are very important. This is where most of my memories come from. When I was child I got to do mostly what I wanted. This was important because it taught to me to be the independent person I am today. My childhood was very important to me because this is where I got to explore and see what I liked to do. I believe that childhood memories make one as an adult want to go back and do it all over. My childhood has made me who I am today. The things I liked to do when I was a child were going to the beach, playing softball, and doing gymnastics.

I would always ask my dad to go throw with me in the yard or go in the batting cage so that I could hit. I played softball when I was about nine through high school. Softball was a lot of hard work but I always knew practice made perfect. My travel team would always practice two times a week, I used to look so forwarded to going I couldn’t wait. I pitched for my team, so I also had to go to pitching lessons on top of practice which was always fun. For high school I played for South Granville, where we would always have practice every day no matter what the weather was. My freshman year was the toughest because I was new and had to work for my spot on the team, after that I was fine. My sophomore year South Granville made it into the state championship were we was the runner up, my junior and senior year we won the state …show more content…

My parents knew at the age of two that, that is what I was going to like to do, so my parent’s open a gym. Gymnastics takes lots of dedication, and I was dedicated. I was homeschooled from pre-k until my freshman year in high school. I was homeschooled because I was on the team in gymnastics; my team and I had to train four to six hours a day. My team and I went to a competition in Lumberton North Carolina. That competition was the first time I have ever gotten all 10’s on floor, I remembered when I landed that double back layout with a twist; that was the best feeling I have ever had. My mom did the after school program, so I would use that time to practice on the beam because I struggled with it.
