Answer:
My days in isolation have been pretty dramatic. I had gone to visit my parents in Delhi for Holi on 7th March along with my husband and younger son and was supposed to be back in Lucknow on 15th March. I work in a dental college and was supposed to join back college on 16th March. Due to the corona crisis that had just started at that time our college extended our leave till 22nd March. I stayed back in Delhi and my younger son and husband left for Lucknow.
Meanwhile, my elder son arrived by the last grand trunk express long-distance train on 18th March from Chennai. He is studying engineering there and his college authorities extended his holidays till 31st March. During the initial days after his arrival, the situation was not very bad. We visited several markets in Delhi including GK M and N block and Nehru Place.
However, things started looking very serious after the Janata curfew on 22nd March. Something just didn’t feel right. We were supposed to go back to Lucknow on 21st March but my mother insisted we stay back a few more days, wanting to spend some more time with her daughter and grandson. So we booked our flight ticket for 27th March. We participated in the Janata curfew with full zest, banging thalis with spoons and my son blowing the conch. To our shocking surprise, a 21-day lockdown was declared on the 24th March and our flight got cancelled. We were happy to be with our parents but also worried about my husband and younger son in Lucknow.
