Regarding storage of curds in metallic containers, the reason is the same as that of pickles. Curds contain lactic acid, which will react with metal container to give out toxic substance detrimental to our health, if consumed.
However, we can store curds in stainless steel vessels for a few days, as stainless steel is an alloy and doesn't react immediately with curds.

sour substances like pickle and curd are acidic in nature. i.e. they have acids in them. so, when we kept them in metal vessels , they reacct with them and form toxic substances which areproves as harmful for human beings.
