Endangered species are a major disturbance in the world. The animal I am going to be writing about today is none other than rhinoseros. There are about 5 species of these animals that are though rare alive today. They are herbivores with very good sense of smell and fantastic hearing but terrible eyesight. Three of them are native to southern Asia and two to Africa.
Now only 27,000 of these magnificent creatures dwell in the wild. Initially, numbers dropped due to hunting, but today the main threats to rhino are poaching and habitat loss. Poaching and illegal trade of rhino horn has increased sharply since 2007 and remains one of the major reasons rhino are still endangered today.
We need to protect them. Increased funding and donations. Improve security monitoring to protect rhinos from poaching. Improve local and international law enforcement to stop the flow of rhino horn and other illegal wildlife trade items from Africa to other regions of the world. Educating people. These magnificent creatures that are Endangered need to be protected and cared.
