The Landslide at -------
* Any mountain place "
Recently due to the tragic landslide which has drastically affected the livelihoods of the people living there, a Times of India Correspondant Anubhuti Halder has taken an interview in midst the devastation.
Anubhuti - So, as landslide has caused a change in your lives, what are you thinking of the next steps?
Oendrila, a local person- We are the people who already need to look after these situations. This is the area where most big rocks are situated and where landslide can occur very frequently. Further, the government is also trying to rebuilt the roads that have been destroyed by this.
Shalini - A car was passing by the highway when suddenly this landslide occured.. God willing that those people were out of the affected zone .
Anubhuti - What other measures have been taken by the community or the government agency?
Joy- As it was almost very big, and it has destroyed many of our homes, we need to shift our placements amidst the huge mountains. We are the small farmers who do Terrace farming. These landslide are somewhat controlled by these techniques also.
Anubhuti- Further, what do you expect ?
Mridula - We expect the government to make borders that will prevent landslide. Already we have started the chipko movement and government should also encourage ot make plans for afforestation so that those trees could hold the rocks and make less landslide.
