Honesty is a Curse Sometimes
Once upon a time there was an old hut by the woods and there lived an old widow. She has a teenage grandson and together they lived in this hut. They were outcasts because his father was caught stealing a diamond ring from a lord. But the old woman and her grandson knew their family was no thieves. The grandson Peter trusted his father and he knew there was something that made him steal the ring. But they did not know who or what the reason was.
The day his father was killed Peter made a promise to the gods that he would avenge his father by hook or by crook. So when he turned eighteen he confronted his grandma about his plan and left the woods for the city. He came across the lord's palace and there he became a squire of the lord. Gradually, he found out that the ring was made of a gem that was carved out from the flesh of a mermaid. It was so expensive that it could buy the universe. But the lord held it too dear to his heart to let go of the ring.
Peter went back to his grandma to tell everything he came to know about. And together, they set on a journey to find out the connection between the ring and his father. His father was a shoemaker and was known for his honesty.
After years and years of searching, the old lady found a girl that knew everything. She was the daughter of the lord. She knew everything. She told them that her mother was a witch and one day when she was performing a magic on an innocent child the shoemaker saw her. She made him into a servant of hers and made him steal the ring as she wanted to be the queen of the world. She would sell it and be the richest woman alive. But when the shoemaker stole the ring away and warned to tell the lord her secrets. She accused him of robbery and made his husband kill the poor man.
Peter upon hearing this, took the dagger and went to find the witch. But he never made it to her room because some guards caught him and burned him alive.
