Once there was a beggar who lived in a the slums of a busy city. His house was made of scrap materials. He was saving all the money the people gave him so he could by new clothes and shoes. One day, he passed by the house of a rich man. He saw an old dog in front of the house’s gates. It was the rich man’s pet dog. Due to its old age, the rich man decided to send the dog out of his house. The beggar took pity on the old dog. He gave it food and took it with him.
The next day, as the beggar and the dog walk around to beg for food and money, they saw a floating basket on the river. The beggar got the basket and found a baby inside. The beggar took pity on the baby. He carried the baby and looked for the mother. Unable to find the woman, the beggar took the baby with him.
The beggar took the dog and the baby with him as he left the city to find a farm work in the country. He used all the money that he saved from begging to rent for a small a land where built a hut and grew vegetables for food. He sold some of these in the market.
The beggar gladly took care of the dog and the baby. The old dog peacefully spent the rest of his days with the beggar and the baby. And the baby was happy to be with a new family, the beggar and the dog.
