The Independence Day of India
India is a sovereign and free country but it had been in the clutches of the British.
The British started as traders in India but gradually they occupied provinces and states in India through unruly means of which ‘Divide and Rule’ is a famous one.
They started torturing people and belittling them, barring us from using our own resources.
India was then drained of its huge resources like cotton materials and clothes, indigo plantations, mineral ores, coal mines, Kohinoor, etc. and this was used to strengthen Britain and its empire.
Indian freedom fighters fought relentlessly to get our freedom back. Many died, and numerous were imprisoned but on August 15th, 1947, India was declared a free country thanks to notable freedom fighters like Subhas Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, etc.
