Linda was hanging 60 feet above a stormy sea. While the winds tossed her back and forth she wondered how she came to be in this mess. “It was that king,” she hissed to herself, “that horrible, greedy king”
Then she realized, with a start that it was HER fault! She was the one who had set the trap! Using the old wizard’s hat to make herself young for hundreds of years had been HER idea! Looking back she wished she had made more friends and hadn’t been so greedy. However, to completely understand this story you’ll have to start from the beginning (which happens to be this morning).
It was a snowy morning in the kingdom of Lightaina. When everyone was gathered in the square, the fanfare began and the king stepped out. With practiced authority he said, “There is a dark magic that threatens this kingdom! I have received news from our royal guards that there is a cave that holds a hat full of dark magic and I would like that our bravest knights step forward to retrieve it.”
Her red hair peppered with white snow, an ambitious knight-lady, known as Bonnie, stepped forward saying, “I volunteer for this task however, my only request is that my younger brother, Dave, accompany me”
“Of course,” the king replied agreeably, “You will leave within the hour.”
