Hii friend,

# Step-by-step Solution-

Production of methanamide from ethanoic acid takes place in 3 steps in presence of 3 catalysts.

1)Ethanoic acid is converted to ethanoyl chloride with SOCl2 as catalyst.
CH3COOH ---> CH3COCl
catalyst:SOCl2

2)Ethanoyl chloride with excess of NH3 is converted to etahanamide.
CH3COCl ---> CH3CONH2
catalyst:excess NH3

3)Ethanamide undergoes hoffmann bromamide reaction in presence of Br2/KOH to produce methanamide.
CHH3CONH2 ---> CH3NH2
catalyst:Br2/KOH

Hope you understand the reactions.

Conversion is shown below.

Step 1. ⇒ When Ethanoic Acid is made to reacts with the SOCl₂, then it will form CH₃COCl, (Methanoyl Chloride).

CH₃COOH + SOCl ----------- CH₃COCl

Step 2. ⇒ When Methanoyl Chloride produced is passed over the excess of the ammonia gas then, they will form Methanamide.

  CH₃COCl + NH₃ --------- CH₃CONH₂

Step 3. ⇒ Now, Mathanamide produced will reacts with the Br₂ in NaOH solution, then it will change into Methanamine.

 CH₃CONH₂   -----Br₂/NaOH ------ CH₃NH₂

Hope it helps.
