Democracy is a system of processing conflicts in which outcomes depend on what participants do, but no single force controls what occurs and its outcomes. The uncertainty of outcomes is inherent in democracy. Democracy makes all forces struggle repeatedly to realize their interests and devolves power from groups of people to sets of rules.

There are basically six fundamental rights provided to all the citizens in a democratic country, they are -

• Right to equality
Each and every citizen is equal before law besides of their religion, race, caste, gender. Equality includes right to equal opportunities for all in all kinds of field. There is no discriminating feeling among the citizens.
• Right to Freedom
Right to freedom includes "freedom of speech and expression", "assembly in a peaceful manner", "form association and unions", "move freely throughout the country", "Practise any profession", etc.
• Right against Exploitation
There is a prohibition over exploitation. No Human being could be buyed or sold for any purpose. The constitution also Bans the use of humans as forced labour and also no human being can be employed as a labour until he she is 14.
• Right to Freedom of Religion
Every person has a right to propagate the religion he or she believes in. The state has to impartial while dealing with cases related to religion. It cannot establish any one religion as official religion.
• Cultural and Educational Rights
Any section of citizens with a distinct language of culture have a right to conserve it. All minorities can establish and administer educational institutions of their choice.
• Right to Constitutional Remedies
All the above mentioned laws are enforced with the help of this law as it makes other rights more efficient and effective. This right prevents the violation of all the rights of a citizen living in a democratic country.
