Two causes behind the 1857 war of independence are:-

1) Racism ( given in the first picture)

2) The British racially discriminated against the Indians. The British believed that they are superior to the Indians and followed a policy of contempt towards the Indians. Indians were ill-treated and insulted.Such acts of injustice alinated the British from Indian masses.
