1) Being a responsible classmate, I would talk to my friends/classmates who are making such conclusions/remarks//judgements for that new student and ask them to first speak to that newly admitted student without coming to a conclusion. We should never judge a book by its cover. That student might be extraordinary/special in his/her own way. Since no one perfect in everything in this whole world, we should not judge anyone on the basis of some selective things and should make a healthy and friendly relationship with each other.

2) If Vishal is a good football player and is not selected in the team, I would first talk to him & would also try to motivate him. I would ask him to speak to the sports department/teacher directly and take a feedback as on where he didn't perform well that led to this. If possible I can also advise him to ask the sports coach if there's anyway he can re appear in the selection process.

If that doesn't works out, then I would illustrate the fact that it is not the end of the world and he can always look for other football competitions that are being held.
