Viruses on the other hand cause diseases like the common cold, chickenpox, cold sores, Ebola, and AIDS. The effects of viruses can be caused by different things depending on the virus. Sometimes the virus can kill too many cells, causing the organism to suffer ill effectsSerious diseases such as Ebola and AIDS are also caused by viruses. Many viruses cause little or no disease and are said to be "benign". The more harmful viruses are described as virulent. Viruses cause different diseases depending on the types of cell that they infect.Viruses cause familiar infectious diseases such as the common cold, flu and warts. They also cause severe illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, smallpox, and Ebola. Viruses are like hijackers. They invade living, normal cells and use those cells to multiply and produce other viruses like themselves.Fortunately our immune systems can fight off many viruses, but some, like Ebola or even influenza, can be deadly. It may then surprise you to learn that something viruses are exposed to all the time -- visible light -- can be used to kill them.

Here are 3 disadvantages in the treatment of diseases that are infectious.

  1. Contamination
  2. Damage caused to the other body parts
  3. Community spread

Explanation:

The principle of treatment of infectious disease includes 2 ways:

1) to reduce the effect of the disease

2) to kill the cause of the disease

The effect of the disease can be reduced by providing proper medication or treatment to the patient.

3 Disadvantages:

1. The first disadvantage is if treatment is not available then it could be fatal and may cause contamination or it may get spread in the community infecting other people.

2. The second is that once someone has a disease, their body functions are damaged and may never recover completely.

3. The third is that the person suffering from an infectious disease can serve as the carrier of the infection and from the patient, it may spread to other people which may lead to epidemic.
