RAM (Random Access Memory)

Ram is a read and write memory. We can read the contents even contents can be written also. This is a volatile memory. When computer is switched off then all its contents erased. RAM is also called direct access memory because its contents can be read, write and remove in any order.

ROM (Read Only Memory)

Data is permanently saved in the ROM. This is a non volatile memory. BIOS setting is saved inside the ROM. Data of ROM can't be removed after switching off the computer nor its contents can be changed. Its contents are stored at the time of manufacturing by manufacturer.
