Some of the characteristics of algae are as follows:-
1. If we talk about structure in them then they are thalloid structure found mostly.
2. In them body of the plant do not gets differentiated into leaves, stem & roots.
3. In them tissue system will not be present.
4. Most of the algae are photoautotrophic in case of their nutrition.
5. Plastid helps them for formation of their foos in the form of photosynthetic pigment.
6. All the further categories of algae are divided into the basis of pigment present in them.
7. Universal pigment in them is Chl-a & B carotene.
