Important information on life history of Silkworms:-

1. White creamy moth is the adult silk moth which have approximately size of 5cm. Also hairs are present on their body.

2. On thr leaves of mulberry plant female lays about 400 to 500 eggs.

3. In this, fertilization process goes on internally.

4. In summer hatching occurs in about 10 days.

5. After four mountings larva has five instar of which life span is of 25 to 30 days.

6. From outside to inside spinning in its self silken cocoon is seen.

7. Secretion of clear viscous fluid goes by instar caterpillar after development of salivary glands which leads to stoppage of feeding.

8. Cocoon is the covering that is wrapped outside the body of the caterpillar.
