It was a Friday afternoon. The sun was shining. Birds were singing. Florent was eating in his house. Hardly had he finished eating when he heard someone shout. He left his house and checked his neighbour's door. He saw that the door was broken. He came in and saw the body of his best friend lying on the floor. When he turned back, he briefly saw someone rushing out of the house. He started to run after him but couldn't unfortunately catch him. But he had managed to observe him and could describe him pretty well. That's why Florent decided to go to the police to report the murder. The next day, the police started investigating. They had found a clue which disturbed Florent. The clue was a glove, and he knew that this glove belonged to his brother Mark. He decided to talk to Mark. When he arrived in front of the door of his brother's house, he noted that the door was half open. Then, he saw his brother run with a knife in his hand and a big bag on his back. Florent realized his brother was the killer. He decided to tell the police. After two days, he heard his brother had been killed by a policeman.

Jack peeked out from behind the porch. For the past three days something mysterious was happening
in his grandma’s kitchen. Every evening she baked six Choco-chip cookies for Jack and put it out near
the window to cool. Someone was stealing 2 cookies every day and Jack ended up having only four to
eat!
Jack decided to play detective today. He decided to sit in the swing in the garden and watch which
neighbourhood kid was walking to the window to rob the cookies. The window was easily accessible
from the road. Sitting on the swing, Jack had a good view of the gate that lead to the house. Jack
wondered why the person was stealing only two cookies when he could take all six from the plate by
the window.
He sat all afternoon. No one came, yet when he went to the kitchen 2 cookies were missing. “Grandma,
are you eating my cookies?” he asked. She laughed and said she wasn’t.
‘Well then, it’s Grandpa. He’s eating them!’ he exclaimed. But, grandpa denied eating them too.
Finally, after 3 days of keeping watch, Jack found the thief!
The squirrel on the tree, ran in quickly through the window, picked two cookies and ran back to the tree
in a jiffy! He took only two as he couldn’t carry more!
