ETHANOL

1. Melting point is 156K and boiling point is 351K.

2. It has sweet odour.

3. It has -OH ( Alcohol ) As functional group.

4. It does not reacts with litmus paper

5. It does not reacts with Sodium hydrogen carbonate.

ETHANOIC ACID

1. It has melting point 290K and boiling point 391 K

2. It has pungent Odour

3. It has -OOH (Carboxylic acid ) as functional group.

4. It changes blue litmus paper to red

5. It reacts with sodium hydrogen carbonate to release CO2 gas
