1) Western Himalayas is higher than the Eastern Himalayas
2) Eastern Himalayas receive more rains than the western Himalayas and are thus more greener too.

Western Himalayas :-
- Extends till west of river Kali.
- Snowline is lower than eastern Himalayas.
- Western Himalayas receive more precipitation from northwest in the winters.
- These are spread over Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal pradesh.
- Lower and gradual slope. Eg:- Badrinath
Eastern Himalayas :-
- Ranging from east of the Singalila ranges in Sikkim to eastern boundaries of Himalayas.
- Snowline is higher than western Himalayas.
- Eastern Himalayas receive more precipitation from south-eastern monsoon in the summers.
- These are spread over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
- Higher and steep-sudden slope. Eg :- Everest
