1) Western Himalayas is higher than the Eastern Himalayas
2) Eastern Himalayas receive more rains than the western Himalayas and are thus more greener too.
3) The Eastern Himalayas rise more abruptly from the south to North than western Himalayas.
4) The western Himalayas is broader from South to North than the Eastern Himalayas.
5) The Eastern Himalayas is more prone to earthquake and landslides

Western Himalayas :-

1. Extends till west of river Kali.
2. Snowline is lower than eastern Himalayas.
3. Western Himalayas receive more precipitation from northwest in the winters.
4. These are spread over Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal pradesh.  
5. Lower and gradual slope.  Eg:- Badrinath

Eastern Himalayas :-

1. Ranging from east of the Singalila ranges in Sikkim to eastern boundaries of Himalayas.
2. Snowline is higher than western Himalayas.
3. Eastern Himalayas receive more precipitation from south-eastern monsoon in the summers.
4. These are spread over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
5. Higher and steep-sudden slope. Eg :- Everest
