Speed

  • Speed is defined as the ratio between distance and time.
  • Speed is a scalar quantity.

Acceleration

  • Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of acceleration.
  • Acceleration is a vector quantity.

Given

  • Initial velocity= 0
  • Acceleration= 4m/sec²
  • Time = 5 seconds

To find

  • Final velocity = ?

Concept used

~ Here the concept of motions equatîon is used. Time, acceleration, initial velocity is given. We have to find the final velocity. Simply súbsitúte the value in first equation of motion.

Solution

We know that Motion's 1st equatîon of motion is :-

{ \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{ \red{V= u+at}}}}}

where

»v denotes final velocity

»u denotes initial velocity

»a denotes acceleration

»t denotes time

\sf{\implies V=0+4 ×5}\\ \\\sf{ \implies\pink{ V= 20 m/sec}}

Therefore the final velocity is 20 m/sec.
