Presently in India, as far as I know, adivasis have developed a lot. They've caught up well along the urban culture mostly western without degrading their core. They are well and highly educated, earning five to six figures a month.
people around them won't be able differentiate between adivasis and others because of their behavior and how they carry themselves, unless you can identify their mother tongue which they speak not very often.
Like India itself they've developed and some still developing.
The poor are poor and the rich are rich. At least people cannot call any of them under developed, be it looks, mentality, status, attitude or fashion.
