Any heritage or culture was created by replacing some other heritage that was there before. Hence, the question of whether or whether not to preserve heritage is relative to the person thinking about it.

If the person is of an adventurous nature who wants to create new things and achieve big milestones, he or she would create a new heritage (he/she is not concerned about what was there before, they are only concerned about what is going to be established). This new culture spawned by the new person will become the heritage of future generations until another powerfull person replaces it with another.

If the person is an average person who just lives a normal life, he/she is more inclined to preserve the heritage of their ancestors, so that they can feel proud of themselves
