• The Supreme court had initiated provisional order in the year 2001, thereby ordering all the State governments to rigorously enforce the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
• The Scheme intended to provide a healthy cooked meal having a constituency of nearly 300 calories and around eight to twelve grams of protein per day of school.
• The nutritious meal positively had to be typically provided for a minimum of 200 days for each child in each government and government-assisted primary school.
