write any six precautions to be followed while changing engine oil.

Answer:
First of all, if you intend on changing your own oil in your vehicle, it is important to obtain the proper materials.(Suggested Oil/Qty, Filter for your vehicle, Oil Filter Wrench & Drain-pan to catch old/dirty oil)
Then it is important that you have a level, solid surface where you can elevate your vehicle off the ground. Ramps are the best option, in order to access the Drain-plug on your oil-pan. (in some cases, depending on the vehicle, there are Two Plugs) If you do not have Ramps, a Jack can be used but also use Jack-stands to secure your vehicle.
Once vehicle has been moved into position & elevated, allow it to cool. Engine Oil is HOT and may Burn You! Safety is key. After suitable time (30–45 minutes), identify your Oil Pan Drain-plug, position your catch-pan to collect used oil & then remove the plug. (do not drop the plug in the drain-pan) While engine is draining, working from above, remove your Oil Cap (to promote drainage), check the level on your Oil Dipstick to ensure it is engine oil you are draining & attempt to locate the Oil Filter for removal. (A Haynes/Chiltons/Bentley Service Manual may help you locate these parts)
[I have seen people “change their oil” by draining their Transmission instead & then not understanding why their Oil is still full]
Allow Oil-pan to drain completely & remove oil filter (there will be 1/2 to 1 quart of oil in the filter, be prepared), also placing it in the drain-pan. Clean off threaded shaft for filter & inspect the Drain-plug threads for any wear or damage; replace gasket, if necessary.
Replace Drain-plug to torque specifications listed in the manual. Using Fresh Oil, lightly coat the gasket on New Filter before screwing it back into position; Hand-Tight should be fine. You can now begin refilling the Oil, utilizing a Funnel placed in the Oil Fill Cap position, to recommended capacity. (if it calls for 5 Qts, remember the Filter is dry & you will need more) When you are “Full”, check level on Dipstick & also verify there are no leaks at filter or Drain-plug. You may now Start the vehicle to confirm Oil-Pressure with the gauges on the instrument cluster; let it run for 1 minute, turn off engine.
Again check for any leaks at plug or filter; check oil level on dip-stick & top-up to suggested level on stick (filter is now full). Oil change is complete.
Clean-up work area, collecting all tools used, removing oil-pan from under vehicle (pour old oil into recycling container for disposal) & wiping-up any hand-prints you have have left in the process. Close hood then remove vehicle from ramps/jack-stands. (Wash your hands, stand-back with a beer & admire your skill!)
The alternative is: Drive your vehicle to Jiffy or other Oil-Change business & allow them to change your oil for less than $30; they will dispose of the oil & save you the work/time.
