Today, Democracy is not only the form of government but also a way of life. Democracy is applied even in economic and social life.
These are the advantages of democracy which are quite enough to favour democracy.
(a) Democracy based on public opinions : Democracy is run on the public opinion. All the laws and decision are made according to public opinion. In democractic form of governments, / people can form organisation, demonstrate and organise rallies. They have the freedom to oppose the government, criticise the policies and work of the government.
(b) Democracy promotes equality and liberty : _ In the democratic form of government people enjoy rights and liberties. Equality and liberty are the pillars of democracy. ln democracy, all citizen are treated alike without any discrimination based on caste, colour, creed, sex, wealth, religion or birth. Laws are applied to all equally and these is no privileged class in the eyes of law. Government does not interfere in the personal life of the people.
(c)Democracyensureswelfaresociety:Democracy is beneficial for the nation as the democracy Is a government for the welfare of the whole society not for the welfare of few people/classeS/ groups. Democratic form of government is flexible; it changes with the change of time by constitutional means. Every election brings a peaceful change in the governments.
