write any three differences between colloid and suspension
Answers
Answer:
Colloids are unlike solutions because their dispersed particles are much larger than those of a solution. The dispersed particles of a colloid cannot be separated by filtration, but they scatter light, a phenomenon called the Tyndall effect.
Ok Here's ur answer :)
Colloids:
● the particle size is between 10^-9 to 10^-7
● Here the component which is present in large amount is called Dispersion medium and the component present in less amount is called dispersed phase.
Eg : milk
Suspension :
● The particle size is between 10^-7 to 10^-5
10^-7 to 10^-5
●Here the component which is present in large amount is called Solvent and component present in small amount is called Solute.
Eg : muddy water
Similarities:
● They both are heterogeneous mixtures
