They are unicellular organisms which are on the borderline of living and non-living as they can only survive when inside the host body.

They are mostly categorized as "NoN" living

They depend upon the host for their survival

They use parasitic mode of nutrition harming the host

Some examples are SV40, AIDS virus (HIV), Adenovirus etc.
