Simple division of labour:- Economic activities were divided. The division of work was hereditary or caste based. This division of labour was absolutely simple.

Immobility of labour:- It was a significant characteristic of ancient economy. Due to lack of means of transport, the caste system, the problems of language and food habits, laboures use to stay in their villages.
