all social groups we are not moved by the concept of Swaraj. one such group was untouchables who began to call them have dalit around 1930s. the Muslim also could not related to this movement.

for long time the Congress had ignored the dalit for fear of offending the Sanatanis, the conservative high caste Hindus.

Gandhi belief that Swaraj order not come for 100 years of untouchability was not eliminated. he organised Satyagraha for them to secure their entry into temples and access to public well, tanks, roads and school.

Gandhiji himself clean the toilet to dignified the work of the sweepers. Gandhiji urged the upper class to change the mindset regarding the untouchables.
