Answer:

Central America is part of North America, along with Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean island countries. South America is a continent of its own. If you're planning a trip south of the border, study a map carefully before planning your itinerary.

Answer:

There’s, in general, no general rule, despite you can find some things in common.

Long summer vacations are common thing in South America. (Sorry, not exclusive to US.) During my childhood in Argentina, we had summer vacations from First December days till mid-March. (And two-week Winter vacations in July.)

Carrying guns at the street is illegal, in most places. In most places, you don’t have the right to have a gun at home (No equivalent to US second amendment).

Spanish is the common language (except Brazil the Guyanas and most Caribbean Islands).

Each country speaks a variant of Spanish. It doesn’t mean those are really different dialects, but most differences are in vocabulary, where some words have evolved in different way, and local aborigines words have been adopted, making local speak different from region to region.

This means speaking among Mexicans and Uruguayans can be perfectly understandable or absolutely incomprehensible.
