ideal gas
--------------------
1)obeys all the laws at all conditions
2)no gas is ideal
3)their molecules use negligible space

real gas
1)they do not obey gas laws at all conditions
2)all r real gases
3)they consume considerable space

Differentiate between Ideal gas and real gas.

Ideal Gas.

  • No definite volume
  • Elastic collision between particles.
  • No intermolecular force of attraction.
  • Does not really exists in the environment. It's a hypothetical gas.
  • High pressure.
  • Independent.
  • It obeys, PV = nRT ( Also known as ideal gas equation ).

Real Gas.

  • Definite volume.
  • Non-elastic collisions between particles.
  • Intermolecular force of attraction.
  • It really exists in the environment.
  • The pressure is less when compared to ideal gas.
  • Interacts with others.
  • It obeys, ( P + an²/v² )( V – nb ) = nRT ( This equation is also known as Van der Waals eqn. )
