Explanation:

(i) At anode, the Br- ion gives up electrons. Red brown bromine gas bubbles can be seen. At cathode, the Pb2+ ion accepts electrons. The electrolysis of lead bromide using graphite electrodes produces lead metal at the cathode and bromine gas at the anode.

(ii) At the cathode, Cu2+ ions are discharged

and deposited on the cathode. At the anode, however, copper ions go into solution in preference to the discharge of either OH- or SO42- ions. As the electrolysis continues, the cathode increases in thickness while the anode slowly dissolves away.
