When reading, make a mental note of simple things like tenses etc. Whenever you read a tricky sentence, try to make similar sentences of your own. Also, try to think of different ways to say the same thing. This will help clear your concepts. Often times, even those who appear to be perfect in English end up making ridiculous mistakes from the grammar point of view. For example, many use the word anyways, which is wrong. Anyways is a slang. Use it without the s and it is the right way to say it. The logic behind this is simple. Break the word into two parts. Any+ way. Now, when you say any , it means any ONE thing. So you can say Any way. But not ways since it becomes more than one.
