- the first ways of reduction of water storage of capacity of dams is over use of dam water and lack of rain water collected in it. 2- the second ways are lack of awareness of peoples about the dams. they misuse the dams and pollute them.
..When the moisture laden monsoon winds advance towards Indian subcontinent, they precipitate on the western slopes of Western ghat . The eastern slopes are devoid of the rain as compared to western slopes because they are in rain shadow region. Hence, Tamil Nadu receives less rainfall.
