General \: form \: of \: linear \: equation \: is \: = >

ax + by + c = 0

To \: find \: the \: solution \: set \: substitute \:a \: value \: in \: x

First \: solution \: set \:

Substitute \: 5 \: in \: place \: of \: x \:

5 + y = 7

y = 7 - 5

y = 2

Therefore (5,2) is a solution set for x+y=5 .

Second \: solution \: set \:

Substitute \: 2 \: in \: place \: of \: x \:

2 + y = 7

y = 7 - 2

y = 5

Therefore (2,5) is a solution set for x+y=5 .
