The poetry style of Walt Whitman was totally different from the romantic poets Rousseau and William Wordsworth.

He wrote about nature and relied on philosophical themes.

"In this wonderful poem, the poet appreciates the peacefulness of animal life.

All the evils of negative thoughts, selfishness, competition etc have no place in the world of animals.

The poet has never seen any animal cry and give lectures on duty and god.

He learns these qualities from animals and keeps it as a token of friendship.

He has bought a new stallion for riding but he wants to walk on his own because self dependence is what he learnt from animals."
