. Importance and risks of doing adventure sports
Man by nature is an adventure seeking being; God put this spark and spirit of adventure in man to conquer challenges in life. Antoine de Saint-Exupery has beautifully said, ‘It is in the compelling zest of high adventure and of victory, and in creative action, that man finds his supreme joys.’ Importance of risk and adventure in man’s life is humongous. They instill in him self-belief, high self-esteem, and confidence. In the modern times a man without attraction for risk and adventure cannot survive. Invention, innovation, the joy of finding and doing something new lie beyond risk and adventure. More and more people want to share the swashbuckling thrill of adventures.
Adventure instinct is innate in man. The mischievous child, the risk-taking youth, the instinct to go beyond, all reflect it. No wonder man has inclination towards adventure sport! The adventure sports though appearing to be risky are full of thrill and excitement that have many benefits. As they are becoming more and more available, more and more people are experiencing the swashbuckling side of adventure sports. The contemporary generation of the youngsters, especially, the teenagers appear to be crazy about adventure sports. The adrenaline packed maneuvers provide such an extreme thrill that those who taste it once become addicted to it.
Man undertakes adventure to quench his inborn thirst for thrill. In the modern times more and more people are doing adventures. More and more people are climbing Mt. Everest; more and more people want to go into space; the demand for adventure sports is rising. A wide range of adventure sports is available now: bungee jumping, mountain climbing, sky-diving, para-gliding, sky-surfing' extreme-skiing, mountain-biking, kayaking, etc. The thrill one gets after climbing a steep mountain, or diving fast from a plane, the opening of parachute just a few hundred feet from earth's surface, can never be felt in any other activity. Adventure sports are becoming increasingly popular among the daredevil teenagers for the sheer excitement and thrill involved in them.

Adventure sports are games and sports where there is a lot of risk to one's life. It is very common for the participants to fall sick or get injured or even die during the sport.
Examples of adventure sports are X-games, rock climbing, bungee jumping, mountain treks especially to very high mountain peaks, climbing buildings with bare hands and legs, sky walk on a rope between two buildings, jumping from a plane from very very high altitude etc. Fast motor races, motorcycle and car jumping competitions in which they jump to 30 meters high or 100 meters long , aircraft flying through narrow curved paths in short time at record breaking speeds, sky diving with a skateboard etc. are adventure sports.
These sports are important to the participants to boost their confidence, to demonstrate their skills and expertise, to earn a lot of money, and for the event holders to gain publicity and money. Further, such sports bring new things into the world. Limits to which people can go to are known.
Risks are just too many. Injury to death are common.
