Write balanced chemical equations for the following word equations. i. Sodium reacts with water to form Sodium Hydroxide and Hydrogen. ii. Calcium Hydroxide reacts with Ammonium Chloride to give Calcium Chloride, water and Ammonia. iii. Ammonium Dichromate decomposes to give Chromic Oxide, nitrogen gas and water. iv. Thermal decomposition of iron (III) Hydroxide to form Iron (III) Oxide and water. v. The reaction of Copper (II) sulphate with Sodium Hydroxide forming Sodium Sulphate and Copper (II) Hydroxide.

Explanation:

(i) Sodium metal reacts rapidly with water to form a colourless solution of sodim hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrogen gas Htwo. The resulting solution is basic because of the dissolved hydroxide.... during the reation,the sodium metal may well become so hot that it catches fire and burns with a characteristiac orange colour.

(ii) Calcium hydroxide react with ammonia chloride, ammonia and water. This reaction takes place at a temperature near 200°C.
