Answers
Answer:
i}Reaction of aluminium with air
So, normally, aluminium metal does not react with air. If the oxide layer is damaged, the aluminium metal is exposed to attack. Aluminium will burn in oxygen with a brilliant white flame to form the trioxide aluminium(III) oxide, Al2O3.
ii} Iron reacts with steam to form hydrogen gas and the oxide Fe3O4. How many grams of hydrogen gas can be produced by the reaction of 20.0 g of iron and excess steam? 5. Hydrogen sulphide gas and sulphur dioxide gas react to form solid sulphur and water.
iii} In the following demonstration, a chunk of calcium metal is dropped into a beaker of distilled water. After a second or so, the calcium metal begins to bubble vigorously as it reacts with the water, producing hydrogen gas, and a cloudy white precipitate of calcium hydroxide.
