hey!
•process of changing of solid directly to gasesous state
•process of changing of gases to solid state
this process is known as sublimation
basic principle
____________________
•it depends on valotality of the object
•more volatile, more the speed of changing to solid into gasesous
•less volatile, less the speed of changing of solid to gaseous state
eg - ammonium chloride, camphor , dry ice

Sublimation is when a substance changes from one extreme state of matter to the other without ever being in the intermediate state. It is generally when a substance changes from the solid state to the gaseous state or vice versa. For example- Ammonium Chloride crystals when heated change directly to gas. Same thing happens with Naphthalene balls. I think it happens because the vapour and solid states are more stable than liquid state.
