Helen Keller was born on 27th June 1880 in Tuscumbia in Alabama. Her father, Arthur H. Keller, was a descendant of Caspar Keller who was a native of Switzerland. He was a captain in the confederate army. Helen’s mother was Kate Adams who was Arthur’s second wife and was many years younger. At the age of nineteen months, Helen became very ill with brain fever. When the fever subsided, Helen was left blind and deaf forever. Helen was quite eager to learn.

She suffered from a seviour disease which left her deaf and blind.. Her mentor Anne Sullivan helped her to overcome those difficulties Obstacles and made her a good personality..
She was a source of tenderness and love for Helen. She worried endlessly for Helen’s well-being. Often staying up late and taking care of her as she cried. . Being attached to her mother, Helen was envious of her sister for sharing her mother’s affections. The bond between Kate and Helen was very deep. She was someone whom Helen worshipped and admired deeply.
Helen tried to help poor people and other blind people during her life. She traveled to over 39 countries with Anne to talk about her life and experiences. When Helen was in Japan, she met Hachiko, a famous Akita. She decided to adopt an Akita, and was the first person to bring an Akita to America.
Helen Keller wanted to get married. She fell in love with her secretary, but her mother didn't allow Helen to marry him. At that time, disabled people often could not marry. Helen Keller died in her sleep on June 1, 1968, at Arcan Ridge in Connecticut.
She also wrote numerous books..
