Answer: With a pair of forceps, peel of the covering of the leaf peel.

Place the peel in water.

Add a few drops of safranine in order to stain the leaf peel.

Put the leaf peel on a piece of glass/ glass slide.

Remove the excess stain by soaking it or dabbing it with a cotton filter paper.

Put the leaf peel under a compound microscope with 2 lenses and observe the cells.

The epidermis is made of uniseriate layers of cells that have distinct cell walls, a nucleus and cytoplasm, and are closely packed.
