Polio or 'poliomyelitis' is a viral viral infectious disease. Polio infection is caused by polio virus. The virus is spread by

1. From one person to another

2. Mouth or nose contact with infected mucus

3. Contact with infected sewage

It is a severe form of disease in children. This causes motor paralysis. Polio can cause paralysis. Symptoms are - discomfort, headache, reddening, mild fever, sore throat, vomiting in general.

The disease that once created a furore in India is almost over now. The country has been declared polio free in 2014 by W.H.O. Pulse polio immunization campaign has been a big reason behind the country being declared polio free. Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign India launched Pulse Polio Vaccination (PPI) program in 1995 as a result of WHO global polio eradication effort 'Under this program all children under the age of 5 years till the end of polio in December and January every year Two doses of oral polio vaccine (OPV) are given. The campaign has proved to be a success and the rate of polio myelitis has decreased significantly in India. 'PPI was launched with the objective of achieving 100% coverage under OPV' with the aim of improved social mobilization, mop up operations in those areas. The plan is to reach the children where polio virus is almost gone.

Despite this, we have to continue this campaign continuously. The campaign is organized by the government, but its success depends on the awareness of the general public. Therefore, we do not just have to keep quiet by reading the blog, but we have to feed this medicine by removing the children from house to house. Two drops of pulse polio will protect children from polio by neutralizing the pulse of polio. This medicine can also be given to newborns.

Poem :-

"Pulse Polio Campaign,

Why not become your pride? "

Only if this campaign is successful, it will prove to be a boon for the country -

"If this campaign is successful,

Bless the interests of the country. "

So come

Remove polio,

Save the country. "

"Let's climb together,

Fight with polio. "

"Let's pay the debt

We remove polio from house to house. "

"All humans without polio,

Only then the country's pride will increase. "

"Polio has to be removed,

Save the country. "

"New age has only one slogan,

Our country should be free from polio. "

Answer:

Pulse-polio programme was started in India in December 1995, and its target was to eradicate polio by 2003. However, it is still prevalent in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, etc. The main reason being this is that in few sections of the society, there is a misconception that polio vaccine makes children sterile. These people do not get their children vaccinated against polio and hence, the target of polio eradication is not achieved.
