1-The first generation is form 1940 to 1956.
vacuum tubes and magnetic drum are used in first generation computer.
it used binary cord language.
these computers are extremely slow.
Ex - ENIAC, EDIVAC etc.

2 - The second generation is form 1956 to 1963.
Transistor is used in second generation computer .
These were smaller in size than 1st generation computer.
In this assembly language and machine language is used.
Ex-IBM 7000, NCR 304 etc.

3- The third generation is form 1963 to 1970.
In these system we used Integrated circuit.
This program used high level language.
this computer use less electricity.
Ex-IBM system 1360, IBM 1130 etc.

4-The forth generation is form 1940 to till date.
In this generation microprocessor is used.
The speed accuracy and reliability improved at that time.
It develop LSI AND VSLI.
Ex -IBM 4341, DEC 10

5 -It is used in till date and beyond.
In this generation artificial intelligence in used.
In it we have to give logical and correct information to get right output.
In this generation develop USLI.
Ex- Robots, now computers.
