3 battles of Panipat was fought in total and each battle has its own context.
The first most battle was fought between Rajputs led by Maharana Sanga and Babar followed by the Mughals.
The Mughals won the battle and this led to ruination of the Rajputs and the Mughals became dominant in northern India.
The second one was between Mughals under Akbar which was under the custody of Bairam Khan and the Suri dynasty under the then sultan of Delhi Hemu.
The results of the third second battle of Panipat was that all of Delhi and Northern India was under young Akbar.
At the end, the third battle of Panipat was fought between the Marathas under Sadashiv Rao Bhao and the Afghans under Ahmad Shah Abdali.
After this, the Marathas were send to southern India and the Afghans looted Delhi and returned to Afghanistan.
