• Mrs. Pumphrey was an affluent as well as an ingenious woman with an abundance of attendants to serve her. Mrs. Pumphrey was anxious about the malnutrition of her otherwise fat pet dog. Although her dog had grown utterly plump, as an obsessed pet parent, she started feeding her dog food that would make it fatter. Although the doctor had advised her to maintain a stern diet for her dog, she did completely the opposite which made the poor dog more sick and worsened its condition. The overdose of concern for her dog clearly shows how kind and empathetic she is, but overly impracticable. She also was grateful to the doctor for saving her dog from the clutches of misery.

• Mrs. Pumphrey is a kind yet impracticable person. She is an apprehensive but a gentle and an indulgent person.
