​a. Maratha empire emerged as a strong kingdom in the Western Deccan and expanded between ​1720 and 1761. This helped the Maratha kingdom to get control of resources.
b. The kingdom enouraged agricuture, collected revenue as per the local conditions.
c. It revised trade rules, new trade routes also emerged under the Marathas.
d. Poona , the Maratha capital became the centre of silk production.
e. Cities under the Marathas grew, prospered and became important commercial centres.
