The heart has four chambers,i.e, there are two main thin walled upper chambers called atria or auricles and two thick walled lower chambers called ventricles. Based on their position they are referred to as the right atrium , left atrium , right ventricle and let ventricle. The two auricles are separated from each other by a muscular wall called the inter auricular septum. The two ventricles are separated by the interventricular septum. Blood is pumped throughout the four chambers with the help of 4 valves :
1. Tricuspid valve
2. Pulmonary semilunar valve
3. Bicuspid valve
4. Aortic semilunar valve
