According to their Secretary General, Amar Jyoti Arandhara, after Bhadeswar Buragohain, from Asom Gana Parishad, in 1987 during the first term of AGP rule and Drupod Borgohain during the second term of AGP rule, all parties are denying Ahom Candidate for Rajya Sabha seat.
Answer: In 1893,Ahom sabha was organised at sivsagar.The founder of this sabha was Padmanath gohain baruah. Padmanath gohain baruah and several other educated person had been trying to organize a socio-political organization amongst the community.
The main aims and objectives of the Ahom sabha are:
1) To instilling regeneration into the declining condition of the political, economic and educational cultural lives and aspects of the Ahom community.
2) Provision for the compulsory primary education of the boro people.
